hi. :)

ALIKA CYNTHIA CLARISSA

Tech Consultant & Product Builder

I spend mornings navigating Indonesian government agencies to ship civic infrastructure for 1.8 million people — partnered with Korea's national cybersecurity authority — and occasionally an afternoon building something that hits a million requests overnight. Both happen. Both count :D

Case Study  ·  2025

Armytix

A concert ticket simulator built in 60 minutes — zero backend, zero infrastructure spend — that absorbed a million requests in its first 24 hours online.

60 minutes to build
1M+ day-one requests
$0 infra cost at scale

01 · The Spark

BTS announced a world tour. The fandom lost its mind. The ticketing platforms? Predictably collapsed — queues stretched into the tens of thousands, servers buckled, and millions of fans competed for seconds of access window. It's a pattern that repeats every major concert cycle.

The question wasn't how do I get tickets. It was: what would a proper concert booking product actually look and feel like if someone built it properly — fast, and without spending a cent on infrastructure?

02

Problem Formulation

Most ticketing platforms treat extreme demand as a server problem. It's actually a UX problem. When a fan lands on a booking page, they need to instantly grasp what's available, what it costs, how many they can get, and how to secure it — in seconds, under pressure.

The design challenge: replicate the full UX surface of a commercial ticketing product — seat tiers, dynamic pricing, quantity control, real-time fee calculation, checkout flow — in a single file, with no origin server, so it could handle any traffic load without a single infrastructure decision.

03

Strategy & Planning

Constraints were the architecture. 60 minutes. One HTML file. No framework. No backend. The strategic bets made upfront:

  • Edge-first via Cloudflare Pages — global, zero config, infinite scale
  • Pure HTML/CSS/JS removes all cold start, build step, and deploy overhead
  • AI-assisted dev (Claude) handles structure — the builder focuses on product feel
  • Definition of done: does it feel like a real booking product?
  • No promotion. Organic spread only. Let the product prove itself.

04 · The Build

What's inside the single .html file

Seat Map UI

Tiered seat selection with sold-out states, hover feedback, and active selection tracking across Floor, SVIP, VIP, and Regular tiers

Dynamic Pricing

Real-time total calculation — base price, service fees, and taxes — updating live as users change seat tier or quantity

Checkout Flow

Quantity pickers, attendee detail fields, order summary panel — mirrors what production concert booking UX looks like end-to-end

Edge Deploy

Served globally via Cloudflare Pages — sub-100ms TTFB everywhere, zero origin, no scaling configuration needed at any traffic volume

1,000,000

organic requests in 24 hours — from one community share

$0

backend infrastructure. No database. No server. Nothing.

60

minutes from first prompt to live product. It never went down.

05 · The Lesson

Speed of execution is a product strategy. A 60-minute build that reaches a million users in a day isn't luck — it's evidence that the bottleneck has moved. The code is the easy part now. Knowing what to build, what it needs to feel like, and when it's done enough to ship — that's where the real leverage lives. Armytix wasn't a demo. It was a proof of concept for a different way of building.
